Is Your Marketing Actually Just Admin?

Let’s be honest: a lot of what gets labelled as “marketing” is really just admin in disguise.

Endless to-do lists: “Post 3 times a week.” “Update the blog.” “Send the newsletter.”

But when was the last time you stopped to ask why you’re doing those things? And what they’re actually leading to?

Marketing should drive growth, spark ideas, and help people connect with your brand. If it feels like a list you’re just ticking off, it’s probably not doing any of that.

Here’s how to tell the difference:

  • Admin asks: “Have we posted today?”

  • Marketing asks: “What do our audience need to hear right now?”

  • Admin says: “We need something to post on Friday.”

  • Marketing says: “Let’s plan a series that builds towards our new launch.”

The difference isn’t more effort. It’s more intention.

You can do less, and get better results if you stop mistaking admin for actual momentum.
